On Monday, President Trump announced in a couple of Twitter posts that he would begin ICE raids to deport illegal immigrants who are in the country without a permit. As soon as the president announced such orders, the media published articles favoring the illegal aliens despite their continuous ironic remarks that “no one, including the president, is above the law.” At least 10 cities, of which are high on crime and run by Democrat politicians were to expect the federal agents on Sunday.
Chicago’s Chief Communications Officer, Anthony Guglielmi, also announced on Friday that the Chicago Police Department had direct orders from Mayor Lightfoot and Superintendent Johnson to not comply with the federal authorities.
Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot released a thread via Twitter announcing the decision made to protect illegal immigrants instead of working with the federal authorities:
“We are all aware of the threat from President Trump regarding raids by ICE, and in response, Chicago has taken concrete steps to support our immigrant communities. I have directed – and Superintendent Johnson has confirmed – that CPD has terminated ICE’s access to CPD’s databases related to federal immigration enforcement activities. I have also personally spoken with ICE leadership in Chicago and voiced my strong objection to any such raids. Further, I reiterated that CPD will not cooperate with or facilitate any ICE enforcement actions. Chicago will always be a welcoming city and a champion for the rights of our immigrant and refugee communities, and I encourage any resident in need of legal aid to contact the National Immigrant Justice Center”
Including local news papers such as the Chicago Sun-Times published articles in favor of the illegal immigrants as they gave them advice on how to avoid deportation.
The people who will be first to be deported are the illegals that are facing deportation and broke the other laws beside entering the United States unauthorized.
On Saturday afternoon, President Trump decided to postpone the raids for an additional two weeks until he is able to come to an agreement with Democrats regarding millions of illegal immigrants who continue to stay in sanctuary cities.
This is the second time this week President Trump has canceled a major decision. The first was the cancellation of missile strikes against Iran after they shot down one of our drones and now canceling the ICE raids.
